Description

Tasks, Roles & Responsibilities
• Manage the EPC Contractor to ensure adherence to the EPC Contract, owner
specifications, regulatory requirements, as well as to ensure a smooth integration with
other Project components.
• Coordinate to resolve all design and engineering issues and will manage commercial
and contractual issues, have overall responsibility for the budget, schedule, QA/QC,
safety and reporting, as related to the Power Plant.
• Monitors cash flow to minimize the use of overheads on the project. Informs the
management of the current and anticipated budget requirements.
• Coordinate & manage operations and deliverables as required of the nominated
Owners’ Engineers to ensure adequate design influence and buy in, maintain project
schedule, and cost forecasts and provide field project engineering coordination with
EPC contractor
• Work under the direction of the JV Board, to successfully coordinate and integrate the
overall Project scope, including cost reporting and budget management, schedule,
quality and safety.
• Responsible for cost, schedule, safety, quality, risk management, engineering,
construction and startup of the Power Plant
• Ensure EPC Contractor’s adherence to standards, permits, performance, quality and
safety expectations
• Management and coordination of design and operational reviews and approvals from
client and key stakeholders
• Review/develop technical standards, specifications, drawings and documents.
• Manage day to day commercial and contractual issues; monitoring and controlling all
contractual commitments to ensure that all work is being performed in accordance
with the specifications, drawings and terms of the contract,
• Facilitates with project team the development, communication, implementation,
update and continual use of the project Execution Plan. Reviewing project control
systems which measure progress/performance, provide early warning of deviations
from Plan, and identify corrective actions to be taken
• Work with Management to implement internal Project Control tools
• Oversees the Document Control and Records Management function, coordinates the
documentation to the client at the end of the project. Ensures that customer
standards for documentation and electronic files are maintained.
• Conducting periodic project and client meetings consistent with the review
progress/performance, discuss issues and to facilitate problem resolution.
• Report to Management on Power Plant progress, costs, schedule, safety, quality, etc.

• Work with other company Project Managers, under the direction of the JV Board, to

• Identify, communicate and manage risk
• Responsible for project Quality Assurance/Quality Control.
• Manage 3rd party Owner’s Engineering contractors as required to facilitate design
reviews
• Coordinate multiple contractors at various stages of the project.
• Support the development of the capital cost estimate at the various project stage
gates

Qualifications

Minimum Qualification & Requirements
Qualification
• 15+ years’ experience in similar roles and/or with generation
assets owners, and EPC contractors.
• Ability to understand a wide range of processes, operating
instructions, etc and to be able to communicate this to a variety
of levels within a client organization.
• Thorough understanding of commercial issues and financial
drivers for power generation related projects.
• Understanding and experience in developing and applying
appropriate contracts and working with clients’ legal advisors
• Project management experience and the ability to coordinate
multi-disciplinary teams and develop solutions to solve
complex and high impact problems.
Education BSC. In Engineering
